SHARING OUR LOVE FOR NEPAL
TREASURES + CHAI
HANDMADE IN NEPAL
Kutumba has supported small social enterprises and family businesses in Nepal since 2013. We work closely with groups that empower, employ and enrich artisans via the ethical trade of their exquisite, unique handicrafts.
We are currently focused on our women's felt group. This group of skilled, aspiring women create our gorgeous puppets and toys from pure merino wool felt. Their attention to detail is exceptional and they bring our designs to life with such care and quality.
A TASTE OF NEPAL
Our Masala Chiyaa is a spicy tea blend enriched with immune system supporting spices! This delicious brew is hand crafted and ground in small batches, here in Adelaide, by Joh, the creator of Kutumba.
Commonly known as CHAI (Hindi), Masala means SPICE and CHIYAA means tea in Nepali.
Derived from an ancient ayurvedic tonic to promote health, each ingredient has it's own powerful health properties, particularly anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory support.
It is nourishing and delicious! Available in the original Black Tea Blend and a caffeine-free Nettle Tea Blend! SHOP HERE

Nepal Tours
Sadly, the pandemic put an untimely end to my beloved tours of Nepal.
My final tour was in Kathmandu in March 2020 when news of Covid broke the internet. Thankfully, my group and I had just finished our magical 10 days together. Little did we know of the onslaught of madness to come.
I miss sharing my favourite places, the hidden alleyways, the artisans groups, the sacred sites, the local life that captured my heart. For now, that chapter of my life has closed. Who knows what the future will bring?
Masala Chiyaa Raw Carrot Cake
So many of you have asked over the years and now I am super chuffed to share with you this amazing recipe of the Raw Carrot Cake we used to serve in store and now serve from time to time in our creative workshops!
Many years ago, my best friend would make this delicious treat regularly and we would enjoy a slice with a cup of tea at our catch-ups. Dilli and I then began serving in our store in Largs Bay to complement our Masala Chiyaa and Nepali Coffee.
The chewy carrot layer with the lemony cashew cream is a hit with all who taste it!
CatarAct of Kindness Project
Through the sales of generously donated books we have funded 30 cataract surgeries in Nepal!
Our good friends at Himalayan Quests Foundation have changed the lives of thousands in remote rural areas of Nepal at their annual free health clinics. Volunteer local and international medical professionals provide otherwise unattainable services in general health, eyes, dental, women's health and physiotherapy.
We are honoured to have had the support of our local community to give the gift of sight.
